“Anniversarium” is a collection of compilation songs, demos, and tracks that didn't make the cut during our work in 2023. Some of the recording and mixing is crappy and the arrangements are often poor, but we did a lot of musical exploration in 2023, and, since the whole point of Wulfsige is to fuck around and see what comes out, we thought we'd share some of the paths not followed.

In most cases the songs are labeled as they were put down - using the project's working name and song number.

"Night On The Borderlands" was composed for and released on "Tavern Synth, A Wayfarer's Compilation", a charity project by Relics of the Eternal City. At some point in February 2023 we thought about releasing a more 'comfy' set of acoustic tracks. The project was called Hearthsongs and produced many tracks, some of which are included here.

Unconquerable was the project name for "Heavy Is The Crown." That project was fairly focused throughout writing, production, and recording, but, as you can hear, we did meander a bit now and again.

Blacktide was the project name we used for the songs that eventually became "Inquisitor." This track, demo 8 never really came together. It sounded like two songs going on at once. The woosh at the end is the sound of Wulf giving up on the track.

Winter was a catch-all for a number of winter projects including "Veil Of Rime." Some of the demos recorded for our protracted Winter project appear on the compilation, At The Well Of Winter - a 4-way split between Altar of Moss, Lored Legend, Cave Walker, and yours truly.

The Wheel is an abandoned project that gave way to "Cold, Dead Eyes." Some of the tracks, such as demo 10, are still being worked on and may appear on a future record. Demo 15 was abandoned because it sounded more like a soundtrack to a David Mamet movie than what we were aiming for.

Kosmische was the working name for songs that became "Unearthed Twilight." Demo 7 starts so fucking strong that it still breaks our hearts we couldn't get it to work. Someday we'll go back and kick the shit out of that song.

The DungeonButtRock demos represent the body of work that led up to the formation of Wulfsige and includes a rare, and somewhat embarrassing elf pop demo. These songs are crudely done and feature murderous mixes, but they represent part of the heart and soul of Wulfsige. Demo 3, in particular, informed a lot of the work we did on “Master Of Chaos.”

Speeddemo-2 is a strange one - like a classic video game soundtrack and Top Gun had a love child, we learned a lot putting this one together.
